das Buch hat mir ein Kollege gezeigt. Erst war ich sehr skeptisch, denn ich lese keine Comics, und dann so eine ernste Materie in Comic Format kann doch nichts ein, oder? Aber schon nach ein paar Seiten, habe ich beschlossen es mir selbst zu bestellen um in Ruhe zu schmökern zu können. Es liest sich spannend, ich muss mich nach ~20 Seiten stoppen um nicht gleich zu vergessen was ich vorher gelesen habe. Es steckt viel Information darin die zwar oft bekannt ist, aber doch erst verdaut werden will. Selbst bin kein Wirtschaftsfachmann sondern eher technisch versiert, doch das Buch macht es einem einfach sich die Entwicklung der Wirtschaft und die damit verbundenen Theorien im Grundsatz zu verstehen. Und es regt vielleicht an sich noch weiter mit Wirtschaftstheorien zu beschäftigen, z.B. fand ich gleich zu Anfang das Thema über die frühe Wirtschaft in England und Adam Smith sehr interessant, das werde ich mir noch näher ansehen.Man ist danach kein Wirtschaftsweiser aber man bekommt einen guten Ueberblick.
Das Buch erklärt die Grundlagen die jede/r Wirtschaftsstundent/in heut zu tage in den Einführungsvorlesungen hört, gibt aber auch die Kritische Meinung des Autors an, welche die Theorien oft in den Kontext der damaligen Lage gibt oder aus heutiger Sicht einfach mehr Betrachtungsseiten anbietet.Leider ist das Buch nicht einfach zu verstehen oder gar für jeden etwas. Denn erstens war es mir auf Englisch fast zu schwer, denn durch den Comic Style sollte man die Fachbegriffe auch ohne viel Kontext verstehen und zweitens waren viele Punkte für mich nur verständlich, weil ich mich damit schon beschäftigt habe. Wer das hier zum ersten mal hört hat bestimmt nur wenig spaß.Trotzdem ein schönes Geschenk zum Wirtschaftsstudium :)
Ich habe das Buch meinem Sohn zum Einstieg ins Studium geschenkt, und er war davon begeistert.Selbst gelesen habe ich es nicht, aber ihm hat es gefallen.
It was bought as a Christmas gift for a family member actually, but as far as I know the one who got it is really happy with it and finds it really amusing and worthy. What's more even others, who are not really engaged with economy and its problems are reading this book willingly. So to sum up I really recommend this book!
Everyone trying to navigate modern economics and politics should read this. My only complaint is I would have liked to have seen the author write multiple volumes, treating certain areas of economics and history in more depth.
Ein wirklich ausgeszeichnetes Buch für Neueinsteiger im Thema Wirtschaft und Politik!Man sollte der gesamten EU dieses Buch zum Lesen geben dann wären wir nicht in unerer derzeitigen lage.
The author seems to have done an extensive research of history and is very successful at presenting the essence of economic theories along with important historical facts.But when it comes to modern history it fails to present the facts from an unbiased point of view and i.e. for the Greek crisis there are 3 frames of policemen beating protesters but none on what are the real reasons that led the country to its current state. Greece had a big problem of demonstration violence and hooliganism long before the crisis, the world just found out because of the crisis. Being a Greek and knowing the facts i come to think that the way the author presents other events of current history are also biased and not properly presented. I also think is a grave mistake from the author to mix so much politics and economy.Having said that it is sad that this comic started as something very promising (as it is up to a certain point) but ends up leaving a mixed feeling that the author somewhere must have lost the plot.
